Power
To power-on the Model 1 guitar, simply press the button on the power module as indicated. A red LED will illuminate to indicate that the guitar is now powered-on.

Volume & Tone
The Model 1 core module, located on the back of the guitar, has knobs to affect volume and tone.
The tone knob is very powerful, acting as both a high pass and low pass filter, with the center position producing a flat (neutral) signal.

Tuning
The Model 1 guitar supports a large range of different tunings. By default, the guitar is tuned to EADGBE, but alternative tunings, both up and down are certainly possible.
To tune a string, simply turn the tuning peg at the bottom of the guitar clockwise or counter-clockwise to tune the string up/down respectively.

Attaching a Strap
To attach a strap to the Model 1 guitar, first locate the strap pin on the shoulder of the guitar as indicated.

Attach one end of the strap to the strap pin, ensuring that the strap pin is fully tightened.
Repeat the same process for the other end of the strap, attaching it to the strap pin located on the core module at the bottom of the guitar.
Using the Mini Stand

The mini stand allows the Model 1 guitar to stand upright and occupies very little extra space. The mini stand is ideal for display purposes allowing the full guitar to be visible.

Insert the mini stand onto the bottom strap pin in the direction indicated.

Ensure that the mini stand is fully inserted onto the strap pin.

The guitar will now stand upright with the aid of the small feet on the bottom of the guitar as indicated.
Intonation
Good intonation makes the guitar play in tune up and down the fretboard. Changing the position of the saddle pieces will slightly shorten or lengthen a string.

Use your finger to move a saddle piece backwards or forwards. You may need to slacken the tension of the string first.
The default intonation for the Model 1 guitar is a slight staggered appearance as indicated.
Changing Strings

To change a string (or multiple strings), firstly slacken all strings by turning the tuning pegs counter-clockwise.

With the aid of a small flat head screwdriver (or the small hex key provided with the guitar if the hole is round rather than a slot), insert as indicated.

Carefully pull the string clamp bar fully out in the direction indicated.

Lift the string out of the tuning peg.

Remove the nut cap by placing your thumb as indicated.

Pull the cap off in the direction indicated.

The nut uses a double string locking system. To remove a string, use the small 1.5mm hex key to unscrew the grub nuts located under the string.

Unscrew the grub nuts until they are protruding. The string can now be removed from the nut.

Insert the ball end of a new string into the retainer as indicated.

Once all required strings have been changed, reinsert the string clamp bar, making sure to pass it over each string. This can be achieved by gently pushing a string down with a finger as indicated.

Reattach any retainers that are disconnected from the tuning pegs and turn the tuning pegs a few times. The retainer positions should resemble the image shown.

Insert the other end of any new strings into the nut as indicated.

With one hand, pull the string taught. With the other, screw the grub nuts back into the nut to lock the string. These should be hand tightened to avoid damage to the nut. Ensure that the strings are clamped tightly.

Snip off the end of the string as close to the nut as possible.

Reinsert the nut cap. The cap will click into place.

Re-tune the guitar.
Changing the 9V Battery

To Change the 9V battery; remove the screw indicated on the power module. Note: Your Model 1 Guitar may have a small knob installed instead of a screw.

Remove the cover and connect a new 9V battery. Reinsert the cover and the screw.
